Job Summary:

Reporting directly to the Vice President of Finance, the Finance Director serves as the Americas Finance Business Partner, acting as the primary strategic finance leader for the region. This role blends advanced corporate finance expertise with proactive partnership across Business Units, Commercial teams, and Global Finance. The Director will lead complex financial modeling, support strategic initiatives, and ensure the Americas region is aligned with ZimVie's operational and long-term financial objectives.

 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

 

- Serve as the primary finance advisor for the Americas, partnering with Commercial and Business Unit leaders on strategy, resource allocation, and performance optimization.

- Collaborate with regional and functional partners to address planning, reporting, and financial process challenges.

- Consolidate and interpret regional financial results to ensure accurate and actionable insights.

- Lead sophisticated financial modeling for strategic initiatives, including M&A, special projects, and scenario planning.

- Analyze internal and competitor performance data to identify opportunities, risks, and strategic implications for the Americas business.

- Support senior finance leadership in long-range financial planning and scenario development.

- Contribute to the development of the annual operating plan and periodic projection cycles, ensuring Americas inputs reflect current business performance and strategic priorities.

- Perform comprehensive forecast-to-actual analysis and communicate key drivers and implications.

- Develop, track, and present key regional and corporate financial metrics that improve visibility into operational performance.

Expected Areas of Competence (i.e., knowledge, skills, and abilities)

 

  • Ability to lead a team and work independently in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.
  • Must understand discounted cash flow analysis, ROI, payback, etc.
  • Need a diverse understanding of accounting areas including cost accounting, distribution, sales & marketing, and R&D.  
  • Need an excellent understanding of finance and accounting within a global organization.  This includes items such as foreign exchange, inter-company mark-ups, inter-company charges and allocations, and tax issues.
  • Must be able to effectively use standard desktop software (Excel, PowerPoint, databases, etc.) as well as fully integrated ERP and EPM systems (e.g. Oracle, OneStream).
  • Must be flexible, able to multi-task and meet deadlines.
  • Must be able to effectively delegate and distribute assignments. 
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with a diverse group including the Global Finance organization, Senior Management outside of the Finance function, and the Executive Management group. Ability to connect the dots between various stakeholders of a Global Organization.
  • Must be able to identify and take ownership of significant issues as they arise.
  • Must be able to make concise, effective, and professional presentations to senior management. 
  • Must be able to quickly analyze issues, determine what other persons or groups are needed to address the issue, and take necessary steps to assemble the group to drive resolution.
  • Must be willing to take an active role in mentoring and developing staff.
  • Must understand culture differences within a global company and be able to effectively communicate and work with those globally.

 

Education/Experience Requirements

 

  • B.S. degree in finance or accounting, MBA is preferred. 
  • Typically 7-10+ years  of experience in accounting/finance 
  • Experience managing and developing a staff of finance professionals is required, or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • CPA or CMA is preferred.
  • Will consider other commensurate education and experience.
