About the role:
This position reports to the Global Supply Chain Excellence Manager and supports the execution of continuous improvement and digitalization initiatives across ZimVie’s global supply chain, with a strong emphasis on Distribution Center (DC) process improvements, operational excellence, and business intelligence adoption.
The role leads or supports cross-functional improvement projects to enhance service levels, efficiency, throughput, and cost performance by applying structured problem solving, data analytics, and practical technology/automation solutions. The role also supports savings governance and measurement to ensure benefits are tracked, validated, and sustained.
What you’ll be doing:
Operational Excellence / Continuous Improvement
- Lead or support continuous improvement initiatives within the global supply chain to enhance efficiency, service levels, and cost performance.
- Apply structured problem-solving (root cause analysis, corrective/preventive actions) and data analytics to implement sustainable improvements.
- Identify process gaps and standardize best practices across sites (standard work, visual management, KPI routines, governance).
- Support supply chain savings governance and measurement, tracking the financial impact of projects and ensuring benefits are documented, validated, and sustained.
- Promote and share best practices across global supply chain operations to build a culture of continuous improvement and digital adoption.
Distribution Center Technology & Automation
- Implement technology and automation projects in distribution centers to increase efficiency, throughput, and productivity while reducing operating costs (e.g., scanning enablement, warehouse process automation, improved receiving/put-away, picking/packing flow optimization).
- Partner with IT and site teams to define requirements, support testing/UAT, deploy solutions, and ensure adoption through training and standard work.
- Support DC productivity improvement initiatives using data (labor/productivity metrics, order profiles, slotting/space utilization, cycle count accuracy, transaction quality).
Digital Transformation / Business Intelligence Enablement
- Support the digitalization of global Supply Chain Excellence processes and CI governance (standard KPIs, dashboards, action tracking, and project portfolio visibility).
- Train and (as applicable) certify employees on Business Intelligence tools such as Power BI; develop user-friendly dashboards and guidance materials to enable self-service analytics.
- Stay current on AI/ML, automation, and emerging digital tools relevant to supply chain; identify practical use cases and support pilots that deliver measurable value.
This position requires travel up to 20%.
What you’ll need:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, Economics, Data/Computer Science, or related field (advanced degree a plus).
- Typically, 5+ years of experience in Continuous Improvement, Supply Chain Planning, Distribution/Warehouse Operations, and/or Data Management. Medical device or life sciences experience preferred.
- Strong data analytics skills; ability to translate data into insights, actions, and measurable results.
- Strong Business Intelligence knowledge: Power BI proficiency preferred (Power Query strongly preferred).
- Working knowledge of programming languages such as SQL and Python is a plus.
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.
- Experience implementing improvements in distribution centers (process redesign, throughput/productivity, quality, service, cost).
