Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and technology-driven Dental Milling Center Manager to lead our production operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the complete digital workflow, ensuring maximum precision in prosthetic restorations, managing a technical team, and ensuring all operations meet the highest standards of quality and Florida state regulations.
- Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Production Management: Supervise and optimize the digital workflow (CAD/CAM) from file receipt to final milling and finishing.
- Technical Excellence: Ensure the calibration and preventive maintenance of 5-axis milling machines and peripherals. Perform immediate technical troubleshooting to minimize downtime.
- Quality Control (QC): Work with the quality department to implement and oversee rigorous part inspection protocols to ensure perfect margins and passive fit, keeping the remake rate to an absolute minimum.
- Team Leadership: Train, supervise, and motivate technical and operational staff. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and efficiency.
- Inventory Management: Monitor the inventory of materials to optimize costs and prevent shortages.
- Client Relations: Maintain fluid communication with customer service and partner dental laboratories and clinics, ensuring adherence to delivery timelines.
- Expected Areas of Competence (i.e., knowledge, skills, and abilities)
- Deep knowledge of CAD software (exocad and/or 3Shape), CAM software (MillBox, hyperDENT, SUM3D or equivalent), and operational experience with 5-axis milling machines. Experience with CNC machining, digital workflows, nesting strategies, tool management, and industrial dental 3D printing is highly desirable.
- Material Science: Expert understanding of zirconia, PMMA, wax, titanium, cobalt chrome, lithium disilicate, and other dental materials used in modern milling and additive manufacturing
- Management Skills: Proven ability to manage KPIs (productivity, waste, error rates) and report results to upper management.
- Legal & Ethics: Thorough knowledge of Florida dental laboratory laws and workplace safety protocols.
- Languages: Fluent English (written and spoken). Proficiency in Spanish is a valuable asset given the Florida market.
Education/Experience Requirements
- Typically requires bachelors’ degree in business administration and/or technical degree. A combination of education and related experience will be considered.
- Minimum of 5–8 years in dental laboratories with a focus on digital technology. Prior experience as a supervisor or manager is highly preferred
