Job Summary:

The Sr. S&OP Manager will lead the design, launch, and stabilization of ZimVie’s global Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP / SIOP) process. This role is responsible for building the operating model, governance, calendar, templates, standard meeting formats, decision forums, roles and responsibilities, handoffs, escalation paths, and management routines required to move ZimVie from a fragmented planning approach to one integrated, forward-looking business planning process.

The position will partner closely with Global Demand Planners, the Senior Manager of Demand and Supply Planning, Finance, Marketing, Regulatory Affairs, Commercial / Sales, Manufacturing, Sourcing, Logistics, IT / Analytics, and Operations leadership to implement Portfolio Review, Demand Review, Supply Review, and Executive / Management Business Review processes. The role will ensure that demand, supply, portfolio, regulatory, inventory, launch, financial, and operational assumptions are visible, documented, challenged, and translated into clear actions and decisions.

This is a process-building and change-management role. The successful candidate will bring strong S&OP experience, structured program management capability, business acumen, and the ability to influence across functions without direct authority. The role will establish scalable S&OP practices that improve forecast quality, cross-functional accountability, launch readiness, supply visibility, inventory health, and alignment between the operational plan and the financial plan.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

•     Design and implement ZimVie’s global S&OP operating model, including monthly cadence, process governance, meeting architecture, standard templates, decision rights, escalation paths, and management routines.

•     Create a disciplined process that connects portfolio decisions, unconstrained demand, supply feasibility, inventory risk, regulatory readiness, and financial expectations into one forward-looking business plan.

•     Define the monthly S&OP calendar, meeting cadence, participants, required inputs, outputs, pre-work, decision forums, escalation points, and follow-up requirements for each step of the process.

•     Create standard templates, meeting formats, scorecards, action logs, decision logs, assumption trackers, and executive summaries for Portfolio Review, Demand Review, Supply Review, and Executive / Management Business Review.

•     Implement practical and scalable processes appropriate for ZimVie’s business complexity, including high SKU count, global market coverage, active new-product launches, portfolio complexity, and current system / data limitations.

•     Partner with Global Demand Planners to improve forecast quality, regional market input capture, demand assumptions, risk / opportunity documentation, country onboarding, and demand review preparation.

•     Partner with the Senior Manager, Supply Chain Planning to connect demand outputs with supply review, capacity assessment, purchasing priorities, backorder recovery, inventory targets, and supply constraint resolution.

•     Partner with Finance to establish demand-to-dollar visibility, alignment to AOP / LBE / financial commitments, and consistent reporting of risks, opportunities, and trade-offs.

•     Partner with Marketing and Regulatory Affairs to formalize portfolio review, launch / phase-out readiness, SKU rationalization visibility, product hierarchy governance, and regulatory impacts on demand and supply decisions.

•     Partner with IT, Analytics, Finance, and Supply Chain teams to define KPI requirements and establish a single source of truth for S&OP reviews.

•     Define and standardize S&OP metrics including forecast accuracy, forecast bias, demand volatility, S&OP dollars vs. AOP / LBE, inventory dollars, inventory weeks, healthy inventory, backorders, E&O, supply plan accuracy, launch performance, and action closure.

•     Help define requirements for forecasting tools, dashboards, Power BI reporting, Oracle data inputs, demand-to-dollar views, and future planning system capabilities.

•     Reduce dependency on manual Excel reporting by standardizing data definitions, report ownership, refresh cadence, and dashboard requirements.

•     Lead change-management activities required to launch the S&OP process, including stakeholder alignment, role clarity, training, communication, onboarding materials, and adoption tracking.

•     Train Sales, Marketing, Finance, Regulatory, Supply Chain, and Operations participants on S&OP objectives, expected inputs, meeting roles, decision rights, and accountability standards.

•     Build trust in the process by ensuring meetings are decision-oriented, data-driven, action-focused, and connected to business outcomes rather than theoretical process compliance.

•     Influence cross-functional teams without direct authority and drive alignment in a complex, global, multi-site environment.

•     Continuously improve the S&OP process based on business feedback, process maturity, tool capabilities, and organizational readiness.

Expected Areas of Competence (i.e., knowledge, skills, and abilities)

•     Strong practical knowledge of S&OP / SIOP / IBP processes, including portfolio review, demand review, supply review, executive review, governance, and process maturity development.

•     Proven ability to design and implement planning processes from the ground up in environments with incomplete tools, fragmented data, and evolving organizational capabilities.

•     Strong facilitation skills with the ability to lead cross-functional meetings, drive decisions, resolve ambiguity, and keep stakeholders accountable for actions and assumptions.

•     Ability to connect demand, supply, portfolio, regulatory, inventory, capacity, service, cost, cash, and financial outcomes into one integrated business planning process.

•     Strong understanding of demand planning, forecast accuracy, forecast bias, market intelligence, launch forecasting, demand segmentation, and exception-based planning.

•     Working knowledge of supply planning, manufacturing planning, capacity review, supplier constraints, inventory management, backorder risk, E&O, and supply mitigation planning.

•     Strong financial acumen and ability to translate operational plans into revenue, inventory, margin, cost, risk, and opportunity implications.

•     Ability to develop templates, scorecards, meeting packs, dashboards, standard work, process documentation, and executive-ready presentations.

•     Strong analytical capability, including comfort working with large data sets, imperfect data, ERP outputs, Excel, Power BI, and planning tools.

•     Excellent communication and storytelling skills, including ability to simplify complex supply chain and business issues for executive audiences.

•     Strong change-management capability, including stakeholder engagement, training, process adoption, resistance management, and governance discipline.

•     High degree of ownership, urgency, structure, and accountability, with ability to work independently in a dynamic and ambiguous environment.

•     Ability to influence senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams without direct authority.

Education/Experience Requirements

•     Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, Industrial Engineering, Finance, Analytics, or a related field required.

•     APICS / ASCM certification, IBF certification, PMP, Lean Six Sigma, or other relevant business planning / supply chain certification preferred.

•     Minimum 7-10 years of progressive experience in supply chain, S&OP / SIOP / IBP, demand planning, supply planning, business planning, operations planning, or related functions required.

•     Experience designing, implementing, or significantly improving an S&OP / IBP process required, including meeting cadence, governance, templates, KPIs, action tracking, and cross-functional decision forums.

•     Experience working with Commercial, Marketing, Finance, Regulatory, Operations, Supply Chain, and IT / Analytics stakeholders required.

•     Experience with ERP systems and planning data required; Oracle Cloud experience preferred.

•     Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office required, especially Excel and PowerPoint; experience with Power BI, forecasting tools, planning systems, or analytics platforms preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

•     Experience in medical device, life sciences, regulated manufacturing, or other complex product environments.

•     Experience implementing S&OP in organizations with high SKU complexity, multiple countries, launch-heavy portfolios, and evolving data / system capabilities.

•     Experience in a global or multi-site supply chain environment.

•     Ability to operate at both strategic and tactical levels: designing governance while also building practical templates, trackers, and operating routines.

•     Strong executive presence and ability to translate operational complexity into clear decisions, risks, trade-offs, and recommendations.

•     Demonstrated ability to lead change in environments where processes are fragmented, roles are unclear, and accountability needs to be formalized.

•     Experience implementing planning software or supporting planning system requirements with large global enterprises is a plus.

Travel Requirements

Up to 10-15% may be required for site visits, implementation workshops, stakeholder alignment, or training sessions.
