Job Summary:

This position is responsible for leading global demand forecasting, supply and manufacturing planning, purchasing, and cross-site logistics. The Senior Supply Chain Manager provides strategic direction and ensures alignment of supply chain operations with business goals, driving efficiency, cost competitiveness, and customer satisfaction. The role requires strong leadership, cross-functional influence, and the ability to optimize supply chain networks at both strategic and tactical levels.

 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic leadership to a team of planners, buyers, and supply chain professionals to deliver high levels of customer service, inventory optimization, and manufacturing productivity.
  • Develop and execute long-term supply chain strategies that support business growth, cost targets, and operational excellence.
  • Drive global SIOP (Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning) maturity, ensuring synchronization between supply, demand, and financial objectives.
  • Oversee and optimize multi-site and global inventory levels (DOH) to achieve financial and service objectives.
  • Partner closely with the Sourcing, Finance, Manufacturing, and Commercial teams to ensure timely procurement, capacity alignment, and cost-effective material flow.
  • Lead supply chain risk management activities, including supplier disruptions, capacity shortages, and market volatility.
  • Champion process improvement and digital transformation initiatives to increase efficiency, visibility, and automation across supply chain operations.
  • Ensure compliance with GMPs, corporate policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and succession planning to develop future supply chain leaders.
  • Manage and report annual budgets for Planning, Purchasing, and Supply Chain initiatives.
  • Represent the Supply Chain function in cross-functional executive reviews and provide data-driven insights for decision-making.

Expected Areas of Competence (i.e., knowledge, skills, and abilities)

  • Deep knowledge of global, end-to-end supply chain operations including demand planning, manufacturing, logistics, and sourcing.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills with the ability to influence at senior levels across functions.
  • Proven track record in driving supply chain strategy, cost optimization, and organizational transformation.
  • Solid financial acumen with ability to link supply chain initiatives to P&L impact.
  • Advanced project management and change management capabilities.
  • Demonstrated experience in implementing supply chain technologies, analytics, and process improvements.
  • Ability to anticipate risks, develop contingency plans, and make decisions with significant business impact.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with ability to influence executive leadership.

 

Education/Experience Requirements 

  • Typically required a bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field; MBA or master’s degree preferred.
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in supply chain management, including purchasing, planning, forecasting, manufacturing, customer care and logistics.
  • Minimum 5 years of managerial experience
  • Professional certifications (CPIM, CSCP, CPSM) strongly preferred.
