Job Summary:
This position is responsible for managing demand forecasting, supply and manufacturing planning, and purchasing. The role requires effective coordination of these functions to optimize inventory levels, maximize manufacturing utilization, ensure high customer service, and meet standard cost objectives.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

•    Lead a team of buyers and planners to ensure forecasts and planning schedules support high customer service levels and optimal manufacturing productivity.
•    Manage and reduce inventory levels (DOH) to achieve budget targets.
•    Drive continuous improvement in material flow from suppliers through internal operations for increased efficiency.
•    Partner with the Sourcing team to ensure timely procurement of quality materials in appropriate quantities and at competitive prices.
•    Foster cross-functional collaboration and effective communication between the supply chain function and other departments.
•    Oversee intra-company material transfers to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
•    Ensure departmental procedures comply with GMPs, and corporate policies.
•    Identify and implement opportunities to improve efficiency and productivity.
•    Prepare and manage annual budgets for Planning and Purchasing.
•    Support the identification, development, and succession planning of Supply Chain Management staff.

Expected Areas of Competence (i.e., knowledge, skills, and abilities)

•    Strong knowledge of end-to-end supply chain operations.
•    Ability to work independently and make sound decisions with significant impact.
•    Strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills, including the ability to interact with senior leadership.
•    Strong analytical and managerial capabilities.
•    Solid understanding of strategic cost management and cost reduction techniques.
•    Experience with contract negotiations and the development of agreements is a plus.
•    Ability to create and manage project and purchasing plans across multiple functions and sites.
•    Skilled in evaluating multiple options before making timely decisions in the company's best interest.
•    Familiarity with market trends and collaboration with Marketing to improve forecast accuracy.
•    Proven ability to lead teams and delegate responsibilities effectively.
•    Excellent interpersonal skills for working with internal and external stakeholders.

Education/Experience Requirements 

•    Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in business with 6-8 years experience in the following related areas:  purchasing, planning, forecasting,  and manufacturing, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 
•    At least three years of managerial experience is also essential.   
•    CPM, CPIM or CSCP preferred.
