Job Summary:

We are seeking a motivated and analytical Global Demand Planner to support demand forecasting across all ZimVie products and regions. This role will be responsible for building, maintaining, and continuously improving global demand forecasts by leveraging historical sales, market intelligence, portfolio assumptions, commercial inputs, statistical models, and business trends.

The Global Demand Planner will play a key role in the implementation and ongoing execution of ZimVie’s Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process. This individual will help establish forecasting standards, global planning calendars, templates, data governance routines, demand review inputs, and performance metrics that create stronger alignment between Commercial, Marketing, Finance, Operations, Supply Planning, Procurement, Distribution, and Manufacturing.

This position requires strong analytical capability, attention to detail, business acumen, and the ability to translate large volumes of data into actionable insights. The role will support global visibility of demand, risks, opportunities, portfolio assumptions, and forecast changes to enable better decision-making, improved customer service, optimized inventory, and stronger alignment with financial goals.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop, maintain, and improve global demand forecasts for all ZimVie products, regions, franchises, and business segments, incorporating statistical baselines, commercial input, market trends, product lifecycle assumptions, and financial targets.
  • Support the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of ZimVie’s global S&OP process, including demand review preparation, meeting cadence, templates, analytics, assumptions tracking, and decision follow-up.
  • Partner with Commercial, Marketing, Finance, Supply Planning, Manufacturing, Procurement, Distribution, Customer Service, and Regulatory teams to ensure demand forecasts reflect business assumptions, launch plans, discontinuations, regulatory constraints, supply risks, and customer demand signals.
  • Maintain global forecasting data, demand planning files, assumptions, and master data inputs to ensure accuracy, consistency, transparency, and repeatability across regions and product hierarchies.
  • Analyze historical sales, forecast accuracy, forecast bias, demand variability, backlog, inventory, service levels, and other planning indicators to identify trends, risks, opportunities, and root causes of forecast changes.
  • Prepare global demand review materials, including dashboards, forecast bridges, variance analysis, demand risk and opportunity summaries, portfolio views, and executive-level S&OP inputs.
  • Coordinate monthly forecast updates and ensure changes are documented, validated, and communicated to the appropriate stakeholders within the S&OP cycle.
  • Help define and monitor demand planning KPIs, including forecast accuracy, forecast bias, demand plan adherence, forecast value add, service level impact, inventory implications, and forecast-to-financial alignment.
  • Support the implementation or enhancement of forecasting tools, analytics, ERP inputs, reporting structures, and planning processes required to improve demand planning maturity.
  • Identify data quality issues, planning process gaps, and improvement opportunities; partner with the appropriate teams to implement corrective actions and sustainable processes.
  • Support portfolio segmentation, ABC analysis, lifecycle management, new product introductions, phase-outs, and slow-moving or obsolete inventory analysis as part of the global demand planning process.
  • Collaborate with Supply Planning and Operations to translate demand signals into supply implications, highlight capacity or inventory risks, and support balanced S&OP decisions.
  • Promote standardization and best practices across regions while recognizing local market requirements and business-specific assumptions.
  • Provide clear and proactive communication to stakeholders regarding demand changes, assumptions, risks, opportunities, and required actions.

Expected Areas of Competence (i.e., knowledge, skills, and abilities)

  • Strong understanding of demand planning, statistical forecasting, S&OP/IBP processes, supply chain planning principles, and inventory management.
  • Ability to analyze complex data sets, identify patterns, develop insights, and translate findings into practical business recommendations.
  • Experience supporting or leading demand reviews, S&OP meetings, forecast alignment discussions, or cross-functional planning routines.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to connect demand forecasts to sales, finance, supply, inventory, service, and operational performance.
  • Advanced Excel skills required; experience with ERP systems, forecasting tools, BI tools, data visualization, and advanced analytics strongly preferred.
  • High attention to detail and strong data discipline, including the ability to validate inputs, identify inconsistencies, and improve data quality.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain forecast changes, assumptions, risks, and recommendations to stakeholders at different levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and influence without direct authority in a global, matrixed environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage recurring monthly planning cycles, deadlines, analytics, and follow-up actions.
  • Problem-solving mindset with the ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and drive process improvements

Education/Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business, engineering, operations, analytics, finance, or a related field required.
  • APICS/ASCM certification preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in demand planning, forecasting, S&OP/IBP, supply chain planning, business analytics, or a related field required.
  • Experience in medical device, life sciences, manufacturing, distribution, or regulated environments preferred.
  • Experience with global forecasting, product hierarchy management, portfolio segmentation, lifecycle planning, and cross-regional demand alignment preferred.
  • Experience participating in or supporting S&OP implementation, including meeting cadence, templates, demand reviews, KPI tracking, and cross-functional alignment preferred.
